School Performance Institute
Experience how one network of urban charter schools closes the achievement gap today; learn how to improve your own school performance tomorrow.
As leaders in education, we face a challenge – to increase the effectiveness of educators who are serving disadvantaged students. The creation of the School Performance Institute will amplify USN’s impact and deliver a solution to the crisis in urban education by providing greater opportunities for success to more students.
Over the past 9 years, USN leadership has been gathering an inventory of intellectual capital and consultative expertise regarding best practices in urban education. Each procedure – for students, teachers, administrators, and operations staff – has been studied, refined, and organized.
Virtually everything is purposefully structured: from the way culture is developed in the school building to the way assessments are designed to the way students are recognized for positive behavior.
These best practices, originally developed for the purposes of creating and sustaining our own high-performing schools, are now meeting a demand from educators across Ohio and the nation. These dedicated educators are focused on closing the achievement gap in their own schools and communities and have turned to the School Performance Institute for proven, actionable tactics.
As these schools have found, there is not a single formula by which to make a school successful, but thousands of “small things” which must be followed 100% of the time. We believe that with these tactics, all educators have the opportunity to make a difference in their own classrooms, schools, and communities, closing the achievement gap one student at a time.
