We’d like to thank them for the opportunity to let our son go to this school. I don’t know how they found me, but I’m glad they did.

– Bobby and Paula, Parents

Fulfilling our mission is no easy task. It will require an extensive commitment of time, energy and financial resources.

– Andrew Boy

The teachers do everything in their power to be responsible for the success of not only their students, but of the school, of the class, and of the grade.

– Jason, Parent

I love the fact that the teachers hold her accountable for her homework, for her tests, for the syllabus. Everything is in order.

– Jason, Parent

The teachers care. They care about education, they make sure the kids get their work done, and they communicate with you.

– Bobby and Paula, Parents

For the staff, this is not just a job for them. They are really on a mission to change these childrens’ lives and impact the community.

– Jason, Parent

These teachers are so upbeat. They make you feel very very welcome.

– Bobby Cline and Paula Green

I'm most proud of my grades. Since I've come here, I've been on the honor roll every single time.

– Christopher, Student

When I visit our students who are now in high school, they have that same passion for college, even after they have left CCA.

– Michelle Williams

The administration supports the things that are important. They support the teachers, they are always focused on learning and getting kids as far as they can in 1 year, 2 years, 3 years.

– Kathryn Anstaett

CCA has made it possible for my son to get wonderful grades and scholarships to great high schools that I never in a million years thought I would be able to send him to.

– Maria, Parent

I have always expected Christopher to go far, but with the help of CCA, Christopher already has a plan. He has a plan and he’s in the 8th grade - and that’s amazing.

– Maria, Mother

It’s a great school to attend. It’s a great place to work too, because everyone here has a passion and dedication.

About Us

Purposeful Series of Workshops

Learn how to improve your own school performance with teacher-tested and proven practices.

In recognizing the importance of supporting and developing teachers, USN has achieved excellent academic results by making Purposeful Planning and Teaching one of the “big rocks” of its teacher development program. In the Purposeful Planning workshop, participants learn a comprehensive curriculum design process utilizing the backwards planning model. In the Purposeful Teaching workshop, participants learn to design lessons with a laser-like focus on student achievement using the gradual release model of instruction.  Through discussion, video thin-slicing, and intensive practice activities, teachers and instructional leaders develop a set of skills that allow them to enter the classroom prepared and confident to lead their students to academic success.

Selecting and training the right people for your school may be a school leader’s most important work. In fact, up to 25% of a teacher’s effectiveness in the classroom depends on “fit” with their school.  All told, human capital accounts for nearly 60% of a school’s impact on student achievement (33% teacher impact and 25% principal impact). Yet, schools usually retain high performing and low performing teachers at strikingly similar rates, with about half leaving within the first five years. In the Purposeful People workshop, participants learn how to design a human capital system focused on attracting, training, and retaining mission-aligned staff.

School culture experts draw a direct line between a supportive environment and student learning, which is why our Purposeful Culture workshop is focused on teaching participants how to design a highly disciplined and supportive environment. With the knowledge and tools needed to design and execute a school culture system that allows students to learn and teachers to teach, leaders and teachers will feel empowered to and encouraged on their journey to high achievement.

Finally, the Purposeful Procedures workshops will help schools build the foundation for an efficient school via optimal classroom procedures. There are two to three months of learning time waiting to be recaptured within the existing school year.  Much of this time is spent on inefficient school and classroom procedures such as settling in or packing up at the beginning and end of class. SPI’s fifth installment in the Purposeful Series of Workshops delivers participants the knowledge and tools needed to design and execute school and classroom procedures that maximize the learning time you have with your students.
